Web Design
  • CMS Made Simple
The content management system used to design this site. In case you haven't guessed, it's one of my favorites.
Writing
  • A Good Fantasy
Webserial, written by Darin. Updates Saturdays and/or whenever I have time.
  • NaNoWriMo
National Novel Writing Month: Write a novel in November. Very insane, and extremely fun!
  • Script Frenzy
NaNoWriMo for scriptwriters - write a movie or play in June!
Band
  • MCHS Band
The Maria Carrillo High School band program. Website run by students. Contains a variety of stuff, from humor to performance schedules.
Webcomics & Webserials
  • A Good Fantasy
Webserial, written by Darin. Updates Saturdays and/or whenever I have time.
  • Agent Aeolus
A webserial with very good writing. Sci-fantasy involving secret agents with superpowers is not quite my genre, but it's still very good.
  • Eastern Standard Tribe
Novel by Cory Doctorow, available free online. People used to group themselves by location, but as communication technology improved there was no reason to do so. Unless they found companions in other time zones. Thus the tribes formed - groups of people on the same time schedule no matter where they went. Now, with stress, sleep deprivation, and industrial intrigue running rampant, Art Berry has been betrayed by his friends, and has to decide: Is it better to be smart, or to be happy?
  • Girl Genius
A dangerously good webcomic focused on mad science in a "gaslamp" or "steampunk" fantasy world.
  • Indexed
Wisdom, insight, and humor all conveniently graphed, charted, and delivered one index card at a time. This webcomic reminds me of a softer, quieter XKCD.
  • Narbonic
Webcomic by Shaenon K. Garrity. Great writing, clear drawing, mad science, and gerbils. Many hours of hilarity and/or procrastination.
Computing
  • In the Beginning was the Command Line
An essay by Neal Stephenson on the merits of the command line, the age of the GUI, and a variety of other topics. Part computer history, part philosophy.
